Unashamed by Lecrae Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was an audio-book for me. I worked through it on my irregular running schedule and a couple of chapters in the car. First, the audio book is ready by Lecrae himself and he reads it with the emotion that only he would know. It was marvelous. It is as if I was sitting (running) next to him as he told me his story of brokenness, redemption, utter failure, and culture creator. Second, he writes about growing up in a culture that I am aware of, but have minimal experience. He now lives in a culture that I am aware of, but have virtually no experience. His experiences drew me in. This is an autobiography and because of reading the book I know now that much of his music is autobiographical also. I enjoy music, but I really enjoy knowing the stories behind the music. This book is raw and real with sin issues and consequences. I certainly recommend the book, but would use discernment and wisdom if it involved teens and especially young or immature teens and children.
